179. THE ART OF WAR
I've long been fascinated by this manual but it wasn't till very recently a workshop came my way in which I had the chance to finally discover how 'war' tactics can be applied to working and business life.
Apparently, this manual is mandatory study by the entire US Armed Forces. Singapore has had it in her 'arsenal' since Lee Kuan Yew's time
Based on this book translated into English which the facilitator considers the best translation by far...
Completed 3 of the 13 chapters. More workshops will come on in 2019. Although war is a dirty word and a terrible thing, Sun Tzu does not advocate it unless inevitable, that too, to carry it out with compassion and wisdom to the conquered peoples and the land...but of course, as evidenced over the centuries, it has not been possible...for not every government everywhere subscribes to Sun Tzu...many never heard of him...
But what I saw in a Saigon camp how the Viet Cong used their primitive tactics to win their fight against the superior fire power of the US army - it made me wonder if they took a leaf from Sun Tzu.
And than there's the Japanese invading forces and how they fooled the allied forces and invaded Malaya and entered Singapore from the 'back door' - by cycling from the Peninsula along the east coast states, entering Singapore via the Causeway whilst the defending allied forces had their guns trained towards the sea in the opposite direction...
The 12 business tactics - it's now used more often by corporate chieftains and raiders..!

...and in a divorce...the battle royale...where there are no clear winners...
