149. BANDUNG
I've pretty much covered the major places of interest in this huge country. There are a good many areas still waiting to be explored but I'm not sure if it's safe to visit....but, who knows? Right now, Lombok beckons...
Amethyst - only Mother can produce so much beauty out of stone...
I like exploring museums. This one in Bandung town center shows how very ancient this land is...with its numerous volcanoes and many earthquakes over millions of years, the land has changed shapes, size, shrank or grown. Above, I believe are ammonites in its natural unpolished form after been buried for many millennia...and below, they were arranged into this man-made 'rock' to show-off a collection of ammonites, probably found in and around the area...

The luxe and elegant Padma was worth a 2nd visit but it was late and dark. It was their rainy season and I went prepared for wet weather but lo! the days were dry and I did do most things and it rained in the night when I was tucked up in my warm cosy room
The Indonesians are a creative cultured lot. I see it in their artwork from paintings to sculptures to even pavements, music, dance, costumes - the whole gamut...
Villa
Isola....a retro art deco building built by a European, used today as
the administrative building of a local university. It sits atop a slope
surrounded by the grounds and faculty buildings - nice place..
A family in this nice suburban home turns their driveway into a food stall offering comfort food on a Sunday morning as part of this weekly street bazaar...
Food is served in these large hanging nests, its surreal at night...
This place was done up for the Chinese Lunar New Year and V-Day
Organic fly catcher...drinking straws with sweet sugary drink as bait - brilliant...and a pair of emu from roots...
...and Hello to you too...!
